Currently, YWAM Amarillo is focused on Urban Farming Outreach in the Amarillo/Canyon area. With the development of an aquaponics food production system near downtown Amarillo, YWAM Amarillo/Canyon is providing produce for local feeding ministries in the community (High Plains Food Bank and Faith City Mission) and demonstrating the love of Jesus to the local homeless community and the food insecure.
“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”
Director, Danny Atkisson, wife Joy and 4 kids, joined YWAM Amarillo/Canyon in 2018. They worked with YWAM in Chico, CA for 5 years and Danny served on staff as worship leader with a church in South Bend, IN before God directed their family to Canyon, TX.
